Fairinmg the Deck Frame

Post by bobcarter » Fri Jan 08, 2021 3:05 am

Hi everyone - I'm in Australia and new to the forum. I've had to replace the entire front deck frame on my 1941 Chris Craft model 101 runabout. Although I have used the old frames as patterns, I'd like to know how to fair the deck frame and ensure accuracy before I start with the mahogany deck planking. Can anyone point me to a video which shows the process? I've not been able to find much at all on the frame fairing process, (possibly because it's too simple?) Also I note that the king plank in the frame is a sloppy fit with (to my eye) too much side clearance in the deck beams. Is this normal or can it be a snug fit?
Thanks Bob
