Picked up my 28'er this past weekeknd. I noticed these holes in the transom. There is one on each side. I am curious because they are so close to the water line. There are also holes under the rear bench that I believe connect somehow to these transom holes. Any ideas?

They are scupper holes that allow water to drain from the cockpit. There should be a rubber hose that connects the scupper to the drain under your seats.

I have a single copper pipe that fits the hole exactly. I'll see if I can't find the other pipe.

I found the other pipe! The only thing is that they are friction fit into the holes. Should I seal the holes up with 5200 or something to keep water from coming in?

I would use something less sticky than 5200, like a touch of silicon, if anything at all. Perhaps put it in the water and see if it leaks before fixing the presumed problem.

There should be a nail or screw that holds the pipe from coming off the boat.
