what happen to roamer?

Post by rchay » Wed Aug 29, 2012 7:38 pm

it looks like that all the roamers have sunk,or am i missing a page or two. i still have mine although i am using her less, getting old i guess.i have been told that when i pull her this year i will have to present 1,000 cash first, because it is steel, wood treated the same.i keep reminding myself that a pretty old boat is considered a classic,an ungly old boat is considered junk.sometimes i wonder do these old boats have value or is it just in the owners mind, god,i do love her though, the smells, the wood, the history,in my mind i still have these sail away places to go, probly not, but as long as she sets behide my house ,who knows, maybe,if she leaves then never..just thinking..

If the management at Chris Craft (at the time) had foresight, we would be seeing 150' plus metal boats today.
Management thought nobody would buy a boat over 74'.

Only a fact that the large luxury yachts and work boats today are steel.

RCHAY...what is your Roamer?

There at least four (4) CC Roamer boats roaming around Lake Minnetonka, MN. I see them fairly often.

Skipp LaJoy has his for sale again.

MY 25' Roamer Sportsman Express was delivered to Minnetonka Boatworks Dec 5 1958. She is now in Spokane WA.
