Great looking Roamer! These must have been the first Roamers with aluminum hulls. They are about the same weight as my '60, 27' wood Connie. The interior layout looks about the same as well. Have fun and be safe!

Aluminum Hull Roamers

Post by Travlinman1352 » Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:26 pm

Al,
You are correct sir. The Custom Comet was the first Aluminum Hull produced by the Chris Craft Roamer Division. This was Shortly after the acquisition of the Roamer Boat Co. by Chris Craft. I did not know until I had already made the purchase but this is hull number two. I do not know if hull number one is still in existence. You can imagine my surprise and elation after discovering I had purchased the second Custom Comet to be produced. Thanks for the reply, AM.

How far are you taking her down? Are you bringing her back to factory or making some changes?

Future Plans

I'm taking her all the way down and putting her back original for the most part. I will make some changes along the way but the over all appearance in and out will be original. Well, someday!
