Seasport 16 Gull Wing questions
G'day all,
I am the lucky owner of a 1972 Chris Craft Seasport 16 Gull Wing, and am trying to find out where it was built, and anything else there is to know about these Seasport 16's.
On the Starboard side of the Transom, moulded in the Fibreglass is ORCZ 16 2114V.
On the Port side of the Transom on an aluminium tag, Pop-rivetted to the hull is CCVAA1140674.
The vessel is powered by a 155HP Buick V6, with an OMC Stern Drive.
Thanks in advance,
Bruce Reynolds,
Tasmania,
Australia.

Congrats Bruce. Nice looking boat!
Hopefully, one of our "glass gurus" will chime in here to help you out with info on your new boat.
A lot of the answers to your questions can be found by purchasing a Hull Card & information packet from the Mariner's Museum. Your hull# is the ORCZ 16 2114V number.

Welcome and good luck.

She was most likely made at the Cortland, New york plant.
The Gullwing molds and tooling were purchased by Bob and Ted Thompson for Chris-Craft from Outboard Marine Corp. (OMC) circa 1971. Everything was moved from Illinois to Cortland, NY. I don't think Chris-Craft changed much from teh OMC (Evinrude and Johnson) days other than the name badge on these boats.

Well, my information arrived today, and my vessel is now a 1974 model, but still having trouble figuring out the colour, as all the information says it should be two-tone, with the main hull colour as white, but mine is Mustard, single colour, with no boot-topping, and an OMC Stern Drive.
The information said it should have a Volvo Drive so I will have to investigate further.
But, when did Chris Craft move the Chris Craft name and Gull Wing badge to the rear quarters?
Bruce.
