Original Interior Kit 61' Ski Boat

Post by Stovebolt » Fri Feb 22, 2013 3:08 pm

So one of the things I would like to do for this summer is redo my upholstry to the original Metalic Green, gold and white that it was when it left the factory floor. Someone had redone it red n white. So, I want to put it back OG.

Interiors for my 59 Chevs I can get from places like Classic Industries and Cars Inc. Is there the same type of place for marine applications?

Thanks for the info as usual!

Here is some examples of the colors I am talking about.

Jack Mayeaux in Portland, Oregon can make you a factory correct upholstery kit and you can install it or have Jack install it for you.

That top photo was shot during the South Lake Tahoe boat show in 2011 and I can send you the higher res original if you like.

Jack is just fantastic, as good as anybody anywhere. The judges at Tahoe even left a comment on the judging sheet for my Gar with comments about how good they thought the upholstery and interior work was. Jack has done two of my boats and is doing the third right now. The interiors on these early '60's CC's are very tricky; I have a similar interior in my '61 21' Conti and I am investigating suppliers so that I get it right. I'll let you know what I come up with.

OberonO1, you and Tyson will be using the same colors and material. You guys should team up on this one.

Jack does most of my work, he is the best to work with and incredibly knowledgeable.

We had this very conversation today on the phone. My uncle will be doing the interior, but it's the material causing the grief. So hopefully Paul is able to make some magic happen. My uncle and I are gonna go through his vast connections, and hopefully he can come up with something. LUCKILY, I have a chunk of the original green on the back of my back seat, so I have something to compare to.

Tyson, I think the gold was called Chrysler Gold. The gold in the Capri you posted is to dark. Good Luck.

The 1961 CC Continental in you post was upholstered by Rod Sousa of Petaluma. The "metallic green" was the hardest fabric to find, but we did find it at SMS fabrics in Portland, OR. I've added another picture for your reference.

Thanks for the info! I will check it out. I don't see the picture you posted though.

John, your Ski Boat had the same interior, didn't it?

I am sorry, but for some reason my picture would not post. It appears that mine is a jpeg and it just will not go.

Tyson, Our 61 had your interior when delivered, but someone re-upholstered it in the 80's in maroon and grey, but still had the black 3D ceiling panels in it.
