Initial start up of new engine-fuel flow
Tank is full
New fuel-water separator has fuel in it.
separator to pump- dry
pump to carb- dry
Any one have a suggestion of a safe way to establish fuel flow short of grinding on the starter with the new (tight) engine?

You need a vacuum or siphon pump. Pull fuel from the tank to the seperator, shut the tank valve, then connect the hose, open the valve. Repeat with the hose to the carb. Or you could suck on the hose and spit out the gas when it gets to the end of the hose. Whatever works for you. You should probably fill the bowls in the carb as well.
