350 FLV Hesitation

I have a 71 XK19 with a 350 FLV. From idle to immediate 50% throttle (pulling a skier up), the boat will surge, momentarily drop out, and pick back up and accelerate fine. The accelerator pump appears to be doing it's job (visual). The ignition has been replaced with a Mallory E-spark electronic ignition. I can't quite tell what carburetor is installed as there is no obvious manufacturer stamped. Any advice is helpful. Thanks, Tom
