Flame arrestor for 1971 XK19

Post by dustoff135 » Fri Nov 02, 2007 8:41 pm

Would anyone know of a source for a flame arrestor for my 1971 XK19 with a 350FLV? Either NOS or something remarkably similar to the original. Mine is currently equipped with an air cleaner/filter. I don't think that will pass a Coast Guard inspection.

Pat,
While you look for an original type flame arrestor, some recommend you change the element in this filter. K&N makes an element that won't burn if there is a backfire. Auto air cleaner elements may be more flammable.

Hi Razz,

Thanks for the response, but I bought a mostly original looking flame arrestor months ago. There is a picture of my engine floating around somewhere in the glass section of the Buzz.

I found mine on ebay. I looked under both Chris craft, Century and found one quite inexpensively.
