Well WTF?

Post by island time » Thu Aug 17, 2017 7:18 pm

O-ring came for the transmission today, Exhaust manifold spacers also came. After dinner I got it all put together, fired her up again and she won't pull water on the raw water pump and then the circulating pump starts leaking like a sieve.
Did I mention that I spent a small fortune rebuilding both pumps?
Transmission is still leaking now from a different location. I think I'm having about enough fun for a while!

If you get sick of it, I'll buy it off you. I need a 350 long block to swear at this winter.

HAHAHAHA, no way. I'm way too deep into this. Get your own :D
I resolved the second transmission leak today, I also did some checking into what I ordered from Sherwood and found out that they sent me the wrong seal kit for my circulation pump. I did notice the difference when I got the parts but I assumed that the style of the part had just been changed over the years and went ahead and installed it since it fit. It was not the correct seal after a confirmation call to DEPCO pump. They were very apologetic and shipped out the correct parts today. I started the engine today for the third time and can't wait to get it broken in a little more then I will put it on the dyno to see what she's got.
Initial observation shows timing dialed in at 8 degrees before, fuel pressure at 6 PSI and oil pressure at 48 psi at idle.
I'm having a better day today!

Glad to hear things are going better! Where are you going to take her to get dyno'd?
