Steering wheels
I am trying to find an original steering wheel for a 1970 Chris Craft XK 19. It has 3 chrome spokes and has a white grip ring. I think is may be a Grant but I can't find it on there website
thanks,

Can you post a photo of your wheel? Grant is still in business, but I have a feeling you already knew that. They have a Classic and Nostalgia line. I don't see white though.

I finally found an exact replacement steering wheel for my 1970 XK19. Mooneyes.com carries the wheel, and I just got it today. You may have heard of Moon products if you are into hot rods. Funny thing, the wheel came in a Grant Products box, even though Grant does not show the wheel on their website. I've attached a picture. I've also just installed a NOS SW tach. the rest of my gauges are at Dale Kocian's shop being refaced. I bought my XK19 15 years ago, from the second owner, but I knew the first owner too. It was completely original, but I have redone just about everything to factory standards. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions. Vic

XK19 Floor
I'll be looking at the site for the steering wheels, but think that mine should be a relatively easy restoration. It is wood 3-spoke. It needs to be rechromed, but the wood looked sound. I assume there are rivets that hold the wood on the wheel. What is the availability of the rivets? I haven't taken possession of the boat yet, so I'm not even sure how it goes together.
What kind of floor covering is in your boat? Mine has some kind of vinyl, I assume it's original. My boat is 1971 XK19. I've seen pics of shag also. Does anyone what all was used, and when?

The wood rim wheels are available from Grant Products. I think you will find a new wheel to be less expensive than rechroming and rebuilding an old wheel.
The original floor covering in my XK19 was white Nautolex. When I replaced the plywood flooring, which had some soft spots, I recovered with the same thing. Defender marine products carries it under the name of Nautolex Cabin Top. I used about 10 yards to cover the flooring and sides, plus a gallon of Nautolex adhesive. Total cost was about $200.

white steering wheel
I am 99.9% sure these were the original white wheels on the early xk19s.( I actually think the moon eyes whhels look better but these are closer if not exact the original)
The Covico steering wheel is available brand new from Rex Marine in California. www.rexmar.com and you will want P/N 243116W for the 14 ½ inch diameter white wheel.

I'm going cheap and would like to know where I might be able to find a "WHITE" Steering Wheel Laced Cover Kit for my 1965 C-C XL-175 SunLounger.
I've looked around the normal stores nearby and looks like I need to go to a vintage parts place.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Mac
