Viewing pictures
Images don't show up in threads and when I click on one it sends me to a Norton "cannot view" warning page. I have uninstalled everything Norton that I can find and I have eased my IE security settings and I'm still getting the message. What should I check now?
Re: Viewing pictures
Are you logged into the BoatBuzz? What Browser are you using? Sound like you have a norton add-on installed on your browser. If so try disabling it.

Re: Viewing pictures
I also am having trouble viewing some pictures. All I see is a white box that says "attachments". Tried clicking on that and nothing happens. Is it me?
Re: Viewing pictures
I learned if I'm logged on to Boat Buzz I see pictures. If I'm not logged on, as in viewing it as a "guest", I do not see pictures. So I stay logged on. And I usually go to Boat Buzz via Woody Boater link, convenient.

I am logged on and see some pictures and some white boxes. Sometimes clicking on the box produces a picture and sometimes not.

Re: Viewing pictures
That is what's happening to me Jim.
Re: Viewing pictures
When this happens hit the control and F5 key this will refresh the page. It may be a browser caching issue. If it continues let me know.

Re: Viewing pictures
Matt, don't know what that means.
Re: Viewing pictures
John,
There are function keys on the top of your keyboard F1-F12. If you hit F5 while viewing a web page it will cause the browser to go get a fresh copy of the page form the website.

Tried that, no luck.
Re: Viewing pictures
Matt,
Sometimes if I stand up too fast after I've been looking at boat buzz I see spots. I can't click at them but sometimes I try to reach out and touch them, but I don't think they're there. When you're done helping John do you think you can help me?

Re: Viewing pictures
I think I know what's happening. I witnessed on of the blank white boxes tonight on a post. It turns out the picture was a very high resolution very large file. What happens is every time a picture is uploaded the server create a thumbnail (smaller version) of the file. This smaller version is the on you see on the post. If you click on the thumbnail you get the original file displayed. This is done to speedup page load times. What I noticed is that is a very large file is uploaded it takes a little while for the server to generate the thumbnail so until that process is finished the white box is displayed. If you wait a while and come back the white box should go away. Hope that helps.
