1953 CC SPECIAL SPORTSMAN QUESTION

Post by rayj » Sun Nov 03, 2024 11:29 am

I have the opportunity to buy a 1953 CC Special sportsman...hull # SS-20-148. The CC guide details this boat on page 155 with the picture of the boat's inside hull NOT FINISHED. However, the boat I am looking at has what appears to be a FACTORY-FINISHED inside hull. I am sure of the hull number but question why #148 has a finished inside hull while Guide and google images show an unfinished interior as per the attachment.

I had a similar model and it did have the finished side panels (ceilings). This was a lower price model and that is why the panels are missing. I am guessing that they were an option. They were plywood covered with vinyl that may have matched the seats.
