1941 16' deluxe hatch support

Post by Patrick41 » Sun Sep 13, 2020 10:30 am

A few years ago (10) I damaged my hatch and gave it to a friend that was a good craftsman to repair / rebuild hatch. it was gone maybe 3 months during which time, upon it's return, I repainted and varnished hatch and following spring I realized the hatch support and it's scews are missing. I figured they would show up eventually, here it is 10 years on, I have searched, cleaned garage, poured through every box, drawer, shelf, and this pesky little item is needed, i've used a stick and other temporary means, does anyone know where I might find the correct item ? California boats has two, the small one is too big. any help would be much appreciated :D

Thanks Matt, I already tried Jim, he said no good on that, it's a hard item to fake or reproduce

OH GOD! That is a sign of the apocalypse. 2020 is such a strange year.
Here is a list of places I look. Some very obvious, some not.
1. Classic Boat Connection
2. Ebay
3. Here on Boat Buzz.
4. And if you send me photos of the part. [email protected] And your boat, I will do a story to reach out to the citizens of Woodyboaterville and they always provide. Someone somewhere has one but dont know what it looks like. I am sure its used on other boats.

Did your hinge look like this ?

I don't have an extra but the casting number on mine for my single hatch is 2163.

And to add to that. Check with Algonac Casting. they may have the cast for it. They made all the original stuff. http://www.algonaccast.com/cast-products/
