Canvas Curtain for handrails
I am trying to find out what hardware was used for the canvas curtains that go on my railings for the side of the boat. I have the original ones and they have round grommets every every 4 inches all around the canvas. There are holes on the underneath part of the handrail and topside of the panels. I just can't figure out what went in the holes that would hold the canvas curtains in place. Any advice or ideas would be great. Below is a picture of another boat similar with the curtains.
Thanks,

Re: Canvas Curtain for handrails
Most likely your "weather cloths" were laced with cording.

Re: Canvas Curtain for handrails
There were eylets screwed into the holes in handrail and top side of the bottom hull frame. Then the weather cloths were laced with cording as Greg indicated through the grommets in the cloth and the eyelets. I had this same set up on a 1949 27 foot cruiser. If you enlarge your photograph you can see some of these details.
The weather cloths were marginally helpful keeping the upper rear deck dry from spray.

Thank you Frank and Greg. I could tell it looked like some sort of rope but wasn't too sure of how it looped.
