Hull number question 18' Cavalier 1965/1966

Post by Tom Gruenauer » Thu Aug 30, 2012 7:48 pm

I'm looking at a 18' Cavalier hull number

VUD-18-2027-C

From a search on this site I have learned:
V = Cavalier
U = Utility
D = 65 thru 66

need help with
2027 = ???

C = Cadillac, Mi

Production numbers for this hull/1965/1966
I've read 60 hulls in 1965? How many in 1966?
Thanks
Tom

1966: VUD-18-2001 to 2040. Looks like yours falls into mid production run for '66. Info found in Chris-Craft, the Essential Guide. CQ

Happy to. 1965 Cav. Custom Ski Boat VUD-18-001 to 060. According to the book 1965-66 saw total production of 100 hulls. Mariner's Museum photo PI2396 is a nice action port-side shot. Weight is 24-2500 pounds. Two engines offered 283, 327F. CQ
