I picked up a lot of useful information in the archives regarding the copper gas line, and picked up a few clues from Don Danenberg’s books but my question is,
Did the gas line run near the top of the stringer or along the bottom and was it supported with upholstery hangers or some sort of pipe clamp.
Thanks

It probably was run a couple of inches from the top of the stringer and as you said, supported with scraps of upholstery. As a concession to modern safety, I would use a rubber lined clamp to secure it to the stringer and you may also want to consider a braided flex fuel hose where it connects to the fuel pump. Vibration on a copper pipe will lead to stress cracks. If you do go with a flex hose, it must be rated for ethanol fuel and use proper fittings, not just hose clamps.
