According to the Engine Master Record books that I have, I was able to
come up with the following
L,LA,LB, and LC. 1937-1938 Combined production 492 Engines
K Series Engines were produced in various designations from 1937-1963
Model K 1937-1963
Model KA/KB 1937-1947
Model KBL Early 1948
Model KL Early 1949
Model KLC 1951, Originally listed as KBL, crossed out and Re-entered as changed to
a Model KLC 2-1-1951
KFL Introduced in 1956
While it is possible to see how many of each were
built, and the ending of each series, there are thousands of pages to go thru to get
production numbers.
Maybe when i’m retired, on a Cold Michigan Winters night.
Hope this information helps.

Thanks Joe!
Can you tell me the horsepower for L,LA,LB, and LC engines? I believe these all use the Hercules JXC block. The Aluminium head for the L series often goes bad, does the K series head (Hercules QXD block) interchange with the L series engines?
Thanks in advance!
