Chris-Craft Storage at Elevation

Winterizing? Summerizing? Covering? Trailering? If it is about a boat out of water put it here.

Chris-Craft Storage at Elevation

Post by [email protected] » Thu Nov 16, 2023 7:08 am

Hi Everyone,
I recently took possession of a 1958 Chris-Craft Runabout and I'm trying to figure out where I can store it. We live in the West Shore of Lake Tahoe and have space in our garage. However I have heard with the weather being so dry this is not a good idea and the boat needs to be in a humidified garage. I have done a few searches but have not seen anything that can confirm this. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice.

I’ve stored my 27’ CC Sedan Cruiser with Sierra boat in a Wharehouse in Truckee for 5 years or so. No issue with the wood. Things will dry out slightly but it’s dry there even in the summer. Best of luck.
