Thought you folks might be interested, we've started a blog to chronicle the restoration of my 1968 57' Chris-Craft Constellation. There will be a blog and a video series. We're doing everything from restoring fiberglass to revarnishing toerails to painting the hull and more. It's a DIY dream (or nightmare, in some cases). Hiccups, screw-ups, wrong turns, and fabulous results. We let it all hang out. We hide nothing. It's all a learning experience from a guy who really doesn't know what the hell he's doing but is willing to learn.
Check it out at http://RockThisBoat.net and be sure to 'Follow by Email' so you'll be alerted when new entries and videos are posted. Trust me, it's going to get real interesting.

Indeed it is. What a great guy. Love being neighbors with him.
Re: New Chris-Craft restoration blog!
Phil, 57' is a lot of wooden boat to tend to and I'm looking forward to following along as you go. Your old boat is very fortunate you don't know what the hell your doing, or you probably wouldn't do it. I kinda know what I'm doing so I have no idea what my excuse is for owning an ancient cruiser other than to think that maybe I'm just crazy, but in a good way. Just love old boats. It's an incurable disease, but rather than shortening life, it extends it. Can't buy the farm until the boats done, and trust me, it will never be done.

If I thought owning a pre-war cruiser for 30 years was fun, I can tell you that replacing the entire bottom is hilarious!

I'll be watching to see how you do on the learning curve. I've tended to my 1967 35 ft Corinthian Sea Skiff for almost 30 years. I've learned a lot but some learnings just won't come; like cabin leaks.
