Re: Tango Uniform
Will you have the boat in the water this season? Or do you plan on keeping it on the hard and continuing to work on it?

It sounds as though you're proceeding in a good thoughtful manner. Have you thought about renting or borrowing a smaller boat to gain some of those navigating skills without risking your really valuable boat? The classes and books are good resources but the practical, I know how this feels, boat handling skills really need plain and simple experience. Your experience will be a factor when it comes to getting insurance. Best to you!!

I'm not from Seattle so I can't answer your question but hopefully others will. I will say that I find it very fitting to have the pictures back up both as a tribute to Stivn and as a restoration project. The quality of his work suggests the quality of his spirit. This wooden boating world, especially cruisers, is so soulful. It's partly because we're working with something organic but it is also because we're working with a structure that is very much our Cocoon. We intend to Live in them - even if it's only part of the time - and that's more in touch with our own souls, our own psyches. Not everyone may feel this connection but I sure do. I also very much feel the connection to previous owners and previous Boatwrights that have expended their time and imparted their love for my boat. It's one of the reasons that I would really like to learn my boat's entire history.
A fine tribute to Stivn! A great restoration! A kinship for all the Woody Boating World.
