Steering box
Gentlemen, does the steering box on 1941 barrelbacks have any type of adjustment that can be made on the steering box To eliminate play,if so what does it look like. Thanks Jake
Re: Steering box
If it has this adjustment screw on it it can be adjusted to a point. The cap is removed exposing the adjusting screw. The cover should be pulled off and the sector and worm gear inspected for wear though. Most lost their lubricating oil long ago and were subject to wear and rusting.

Re: Steering box
this is old automotive parts.....tighten the adjuster and pack it with grease or lube and it will help...but new sector and worm would be best and pretty easy to do. It will make for a big improvement. John in Va.
