do most of you change out your threaded lifting ring rods for age? Not at my boat but what material are those rods. Upgrade to stainless?

If inspection reveals no corrosion or other deterioration, I would expect the original bronze to be fine. This assumes that your boat is so equipped.

Lifting rod metal can get stressed if it was pulled sideways for towing a skier/tuber, or abused to horse the boat onto a trailer. Although the bronze is tough stuff, stress fractures at or near the lift ring should be carefully examined particularly if you intend on using it actually lift the boat.

mine has been pulled around with both skiing and trailering so that makes my decision easy.
