Terry, I was looking at your pic in Hull Registry and was wondering how your top deck seams are chauked between the windshield and dash. Are they chaulked brown/stained? I assume for glare?
thanks
Bill

Paragon Reverse Gears
Is there a complete or semi complete listing anywhere listing Paragon's reverse gears by model number with details on output ratios and other specs?

When to stain/seal
Ok we replaced my topside deck and it's ready for staining/sealing. My schedule/budget won't allow the sides to be done until December. Would you recommend staining sealing the top deck now or wait for the sides so any differences in temperature or stain would be minimized. Is 6 months too long to w...

Breathless
Not a bad Net/Net, probably $1000 a day after fuel wages and insurance. Now if I could just figure out how to charge $95/30 minute rides.

Engine Bedlog
On my 59 Continental the Bilge Stringer/Engine bedlog is rotten. It appears to be Cedar. If replacing is Cedar the answer or other?

Trailering
Being a fiberglass guy I am at a loss with trailering my new boat/project. Actually scares the heck out of me. So let me float a few questions out; With the high deck center pull point where are you people securing your boats on your trailers and how? With no transom tie down eyelets how are people ...

Just spent a month getting my title right. I took a 57 title to the DMV with a Hull indentication record showing produced in Dec 1958, which makes it a 1959 (Model year) which I wanted to title it in. That thru them for a loop. DMV's dont like changing title data, only transfering names. After a tri...

I have never seen one mounted anything other than vertical. If memory serves me correct then most are just outside the farthest spin of the prop but if you have a jet drive I'd have to ask these folks;

Models/Calendar years
Were Chris Craft boats ever labeled as Model year versus Calendar year. Seems like when model changes happened year to year there was a lot of using available inventory from the next model change. Would you consider a boat hull equipment card labeled 12/30 that calendar year of more of what the equi...

Al, FYI, I saw a rebuilt pair (283's) advertized locally with 1:1 paragon's attached.
I'm hoping it a overfilled issue though

First year for the CC283
Can anyone tell me the first trailerable boat with the CC 283 motor. My big books aren't real definitive as to when they became available. I saw notes that Silver Arrows were only availble in 1958 with 185 hp V-8's but did CC produce a 1957 or or earlier V-8 283 in any of the under 25' boats. thanks...

Shrink Wrap
LDPE begins melting in the 230 degree range. If the operator takes his time you will be fine. Wrapping in blankets a good idea althought they hold the film from conforming to the boat's hardware. The film performs best if it is allowed to slide while shrinking. Blankets would have more resistent tha...

Still shopping
Thanks, your recommendations are pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I'm trying to hit a 57 cause i was born that year and my first car motor was a 283 so it won't totally scare me. I got in a hurry and am now backing off to find the right project. I've been watching for a couple of months and...

Good site
I have been watching it (Craigslist) a while but unless I'm missing something you cannot search the whole US, so you take it state by State & then city by city. I watch most of the adjoining states when I have time to search each metro area. thanks and a good heads up.
