What happened to the "Thompson Connection" section? Has it be omitted?

This is a 1966 Chris-Craft by Thompson 17'-6" Corsair Sport V with 1966 Evinrude 100 HP.

The "NCZ..." is a state of North Carolina assigned ID. It has nothing to do with the manufacturer or when the boat was built. Someone at one point registered this boat in North Carolina, and the state assigned this ID to the boat.

Don't trust the paperwork such as bill of sale, title, registration to be accurate. These are notorious for being inaccurate. If built after November 1972 there will be a serial number stamped into the fiberglass on the outside of the transom on the starboard side. The first three letters are a code...

When my employer was making white oak glued laminated timber frames and keels and skegs and deck beams, etc... for the US Navy MineCounterMeasure 224-ft. ships in the 1980s, someone did this same thing with scraps from our production. I never did get one!

No plans here. A buddy has one of these monsters, a 1950 twin screw. It's a gray boat. I helped remove the engines last Autumn.

Received my hull card copy from the Mariners' Museum today. The blue bomb shipped from Cortland, NY on 27 June 1966 to Cleveland Yacht & Supply in Cleveland, Ohio. Fun to know this fact.

Yes, but Chris-Craft did eventually make the Corsair or what became the Sport Boat Division boats at other locations. I don't know when. A Tennessee plant and one in Maryland made the Sport Boats. Maybe this was after Cortland was closed in 1974??
