Re: Awlgrip
You can put on up to 3 build coats on per day if the conditions are right...then use Epi or what ever you like for the top coats. Ive been using this for quite a few years and has been the best combination so far that ive come across. As for awgrip color for wood...everyone above has given good advi...

Re: Insurance for the newbie
Haggerty wouldn't even look at my boat or pictures of it or even my survey. They wouldn't look at my repair bills either. Wow..I wonder why? I would ask them in their section above in the forum. It would look like they would insure you, but maybe add an addition risk charge....Insurance companies j...

Some great discussion...but really sad. Its like the Boat Buzz death panel. :D Ill just add that I guess im going really against the grain. Ive driven about 200 miles to our boat just about every weekend, for the past 4 years....and still get giddy on Friday afternoon getting the family packed up to...

Put her in the slings...My old girl goes in them 3-4 times a year...as long as shes in good shape you will be ok. Now when you go to put her on the hydro trailer, make sure you make some extra large pads out of ply wood to disperse the pressure. Those trailers can make some serious swiss cheese out ...

John...I wouldn't worry about a diagram...If you are starting from ground zero. Just make sure your using the right gauge and all the modern "stuff" and things will fall into place as you go. Its a pretty simple job.

Re: Cleaning old fuel from tank???
I would FAR PREFER an old galvinized tank in good shape to a new aluminum one. Ethanol plus moisture destroys aluminum tanks, sometimes very quickly. Quite frankly I am not sure why aluminum tanks are still legal for marine use. If the tank is bad, stainless steel or modern plastics are the safer c...

Hey Dave! Hope you are feeling better...come see us, we are back in Urbanna. As for your question...I wouldn't...one of the reasons being for wood movement, as the planking is swelling and moving. Plywood wont move the same way...and you will end up with a mess. ....fix it right, so there will be no...
