If you just need it re anodized try

I have black anodizing done there and it looks great.
The process is not very expensive. They are located just outside of Buffalo, NY.

CC 327 F Engine Dimensions

Looking for CC 327F engine dimensions, height, width and length. My manual does not contain these dimensions. I would like to compare these to another engine.
Thanks

This worked for me. The engine was out. If I was going to be under it painting I would have safety supports.

Re: Building a Trailer for Utility

I've learned from this site that a good starting point would be the front axel should be at the front of the engine. My 20' 6" glass inboard has a factory trailer and the front axel is at the front of the engine. Adjustable axels would allow you to "fine tune" the tongue weight. The photo is from th...

Re: Single Lever Shifter Operation

Jim,
Do a Google search for "Morse single engine control patent" The drawings for the original 1956 patent are online.
I hope this is the same shifter you have.

Re: Single Lever Shifter Operation

"Leave the button out" is the warning from the vintage ski boat guys. They run the same Morse control. The only time the "button" is in is when you are seated at the helm. That control has no lock out for forward and reverse. Lots of horror stories of bumping into the shifter lever, even sliding a w...

Looking for advice on where to get the windshield panel / panels for a 1966 Chris Craft Ski Boat. This windshield has the center post with port and starboard panels. Starboard broke on removal. I don't know if CC used the same windshield on other models? Tom

My hull card says 15 X 14, the CC list says 15 X 13.
I have a 15 X 14 in stock, try it and see how it works?
What do you think?

Re: Generator overcharging after switch to 8 volts?

Jim, Great job!! One other question. Do you adjust the third brush in the generator to get the 6.8-7.0 volts? Where would you place your hand held volt meter with the engine running? Amps? What did you mean Disconnected? Tom

Re: 283 Engines; Rebuild, repower, or service?

I rebuilt a 1960 CC 283 flywheel forward, there are a few issues to note. The head bolts in the “corners” of the head (two upper, two lower) pass through the blocks water jacket. On a fresh water cooled block the bolts rust and are a pain to remove. The crankshaft has a small hole drilled in the cen...

Re: 68 cavalier 17 ski boat

Welcome, Looks Great, glad to see your boat. I picked up a 1966 18Ft Cavalier Custom Ski Boat. Mine is one of 40 built that year. I found only one in the ACBS directory and I know of a second. In 66 you could get an 16 Ft or an 18'. Not much info out there on these boats. The info I have is for 66, ...

Re: amp gauge "discharge"

Check to see if you are charging ( hand held amp meter that clamps over wire). If not charging you could have lost the polarization on the generator. Also the third brush is what regulates output and that may be out of adjustment. Do you have a manual?

David, My ’28 is called “Forever”. The problem is there are a lot of differences between the 28 and 29 24’ length. The other issue is when the changes went into effect. This is where the grey area is. From my research they changed the stern light globe from the “crystal ball” Halophane to the standa...

David, Congratulations on your new / old boat. I would locate the hull number on your boat and sent it to the Mariners Museum. On my 1928 24’ model #3 it was located on the back of forward cockpit footboard just below the foot starter. Also look inside the bow deck hatch, 3 rd cockpit deck frame. It...
