Engine temp

Where should the engine temp run at? When do I need to get concerned?

It is a 305 GMC engine, I asume that it would be close to the orginal.

FWD and Rev. shifting

On my 61' Sea Skiff I took for a spin tonight for teh first time, I found that it does not shift all that well into Reverse. it goes easily in to FWD. Should be just a easy adjustment, right?

Water Pump

I have a 305 GMC in my '61 Sea Skiff. I wanted to fire her up last night for my first time but I could not get any water flowing out of the pipes. I was using a hose and one of the quick attachments that look like plunger on the intake. I had some water flow out the bottom of the pump, into the bilge...

I have a 305 GMC engine it in now so this may be configured different than an orgianl CC engine. Some where I read that the oil for the engine runs into the gear box, is this true? If ...

What gets me is that it was dry to the touch in the AM and looking good. I came back 12 hours later and I then had bubbles that you can pop. I will have to wait for warmer weather, I guess. The shop is heated but only up to 60 degrees is all my heater can do.

Heat gun vs chemical vs sanding

On my 1961 Sea Skiff I have about 6 layers of paint on the out side of the hull. A lot of this is cracked and pealed down to the wood. What is the best way to remove the paint?

Thanks in advance.

Don to answer your question it has a 305 in it. I am not sure when it was put in. But will see what happens in the spring--how well it runs. It is good to hear that it is a good stable boat. The lake that we are planning to use it on can kick up some nasty waves fast. In the pics that you attached I...

Hi all, I have just purchased my first Chris Craft. It is a 1961 23' Sea Skiff. I belive that it is in fairly good condition. I have to rebuild the frame for the wind shield and at the back on the port side has some rot. But besides that just a whole bunch of sanding. My question to all of you what ...
