Well I got around to looking into this again and figured out the issue. The relay and horn are fine, it was the battery charger causing the problem. Once I hooked up a real battery everything was fine. My guess is that the battery has short circuit detection in it and the solenoid was triggering it....

6 Volt Horn Relay not working

I may have a bad relay. The one I have makes a buzzing noise, I was expecting a click. When everything is wired up the horn does not work. The only sound I hear is the buzz of the relay. The horn works fine, I've tested it by connecting directly to battery charger. Here is a video of what I'm talkin...

Don,

Yes that's what I'm looking for. Where can I buy one?

What model is that hardware from? Is the drain plug something you would sell or is for a project?

Dran Plug

I'm down to the last few missing pieces on the restoration. One is the drain plug. I was thinking it was a 1" NPT plug would do the trick, but after a visit to the hardware store it appears it's not NPT. The actual hole measures about 1-1/4" across. Does anyone know where I can buy a t-handle plug w...

Stern Pole Light Assembly

Can anyone help me out here. The pictures below are from my Gar Wood, I think it's the same as CC. Someone sure did a bad job cobbling this together. Does anyone have pictures of an original and know where to get the missing pieces? How does ground wire get to screw at the bottom? http://s13.postima...

Well, I guess I'm one of those guys crazy enough to save boats that maybe should've not been. For me it's not about making money, it's all about the journey and saving some history. You can get your money back if you do the restoration yourself and your time invested is free. I'm currently on boat #...

Yes I'm positive it's 6 volt positive ground. We've had it running set-up that way(even had to ordered a special pertronix part for a positive ground system).

6 volt voltage regulator

One of the last things I'm missing for my engine rebuild is a voltage regulator. The engine has a 6 volt positive ground system. I did a interne search and found regulators for old GMC trucks that are 6 volt positive ground. Is there a diffrence between automotive and marine voltage regulators(like ...

I managed to get a couple of photos this last week. Here are some shots of an early morning boat ride with Miss America ripping up and down the lake. I managed to get a couple of pictures at speed that turned out OK. On one of its first runs we were along side of it doing 40-45mph they matched our s...

Don,

I sent the boat to The Wooden Runabout Company. I know it's in good hands with Mike and Kirk, they do outstanding work. I can't wait to get it back, instant results.
