Question about my windlass

My windlass works fine but there is no anchor rope in it. I have opened it up and it has two pullies and an idler pully that puts pressure on the rope. I went to the boat shop down the rode to get rope for it and he says it needs rope with chane laced into it. There is still about 6 feet of rope in ...

After some research I think I have figured out they are oil coolers, my guess is for the trannies. I will trace the hoses in the morning. I am glad launch got delayed or else this would have been bad, all that water coming in once I started the engines, that would have sucked big time.

Are these strainers or what?

I found these on both engines and the ends look to be coming off of one and one end is off of the other. There are two big hoses and two small hoses on each one, the two small go to the fresh water pump and one of the bigger hoses, can't tell where the other one goes. Anyway if they are strainers do...

I rebuilt one of these a few years ago and I found my gasket set on e-bay, had all the right gaskets both top end and bottom. Don't know if any are available now but worth a try.

I don't think there is a Connie group but there are several Connie owners as well as other cruisers. Maybe you are posting your questions in the wrong forum so no one is answering?? I have asked lots of questions and most of them have been answered by at least one person and most by several. Hope yo...

I agree 100%! I have learned alot more from this forum than anything else or anywhere else. I post my 2 cents when I think I might be of some help but mostly I read and learn from some of the pros here that are giving of their time and knowledge, how can anyone knock that?

Dumb question

I am about to splash time and I need to put the props on, I am not sure which prop goes where, does the right hand prop go on the right shaft when you are standing at the back of the boat looking forward or am I backwards. I warned you it was a dumb question.
Thanks

Your regulater could also be the problem if you changed it with the new motor and also check all your ground wires, if one is loose that can cause some real headaches

I am missing one of the braces for my windshield on my challenger, it is a piece of pipe maybe 16" long that has caps on both ends that screw into the dash and the windshield, if you think you have one I can take a picture to make sure.

Just a thought, has this boat been registered with your state? My registration has all the numbers on it as well as year and model so you should be able to track it down that way.

I am getting ready to paint the bottom on my challenger and she has been out for about 4 years. I found caulking cotton in the seams and was told not to replace it. The seams are all around 1/8 or less other than one or two that are a bit larger, I was going to just paint it now then a good soaking ...

I thought that there was not supposed to be anything between the planks, cotton or caulk. From what I have read in other posts you should use something like slick seam and let it swell untill the gaps close up. Am I wrong?

Be carefull, my swim platform was painted and all the paint was pealing off so we tried soda blasting, it was working great untill we hit one area and it dug out several spots real fast, may have just been a soft spot but we stopped and went back to the heat gun just in case.

I think I figured it out, it is for the AC. One line is going to a thru hull in the bottom of the boat, one to the fresh water tank and the other is just lying in the bottom of the hull the the other is going to the AC.
