outboard CC Sea Skiff
Found another outboard CC Sea Skiff for sale: http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/boa/3427767997.html These were built by Thompson Boat Company of New York, Inc. at Cortland, NY - a wholly owned subsidiary of Chris-Craft. Only made for one year, 1962. I have no connection with this boat or the seller...

I had a similar situation with my 1955 Thompson Thomboy. When I obtained the boat 12 years ago the pleixiglass windshield was cracked. The seller told me that some chucklehead grabbed the top of it to help pry himself out of the seat. The plastic cracked. The crack did not move or grow for a decade....

Chris-Craft Sea Skiff outboard for sale
Just thought I would share this for sale boat. I have nothing to do with it. Chris-Craft Sea Skiff outboard made at Thompson Boat Company of New York, Inc. in Cortland, NY. As far as I can tell, these were exactly the same as the "Thompson of New York" boats, just badged with the CC Sea Skiff emblem...

Clear Lake Iowa show CANCELLED
The annual Clear Lake, Iowa classic boat show slated for 21 July 2012 has been CANCELLED. Apparently the water level of Clear Lake is dangerously low. The group decided to cancell. I am sure they will be back in 2013. Plenty of water here in Minnesota with our record breaking rainfall amounts all sp...

carvel planked, cedar strip, or lapstrake hull? inboard or outboard? The building where the boats were built is still there on Wayzata Bay on Lake Minnetonka. High end office suites and an always failing restaurant in the upper level. I was a few hundred meters away from it yesterday afternoon. Not ...

There is nothing new in this topic. The lawsuit was public knowledge long ago and documents could be made available to the public. I would surmise that the Classic Boating magazine article was written by the editorial staff of the magazine. The "shenanigans" are absolutely no surprise to me. Andreas

She was most likely made at the Cortland, New york plant. The Gullwing molds and tooling were purchased by Bob and Ted Thompson for Chris-Craft from Outboard Marine Corp. (OMC) circa 1971. Everything was moved from Illinois to Cortland, NY. I don't think Chris-Craft changed much from teh OMC (Evinru...

Chris-Craft purchased the molds and tooling of Evinrude. That's where the Gull Wing models originated. Ted Thompson, Jr. remembers going to Illinois with his brother Bob to make the deal with OMC - Evinrude's parent. Everything was moved to Cortland, NY. I don't think Chris-Craft ever changed the hu...

If it's Nautolex, you can get it almost anywhere. Don't buy it thru West Marine. Find it on-line someplace that will much less expensive. I have purchased from www.defender.com in the past.

Winneconnee, WI is home to Dwight Jechort - a professional boat restorer.
There are several in the Milwaukee area and Lake Geneva environs.
I suggest you get familiar with the Glacial Lakes chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society (www.acbs.org) and start networking with the members.
