Re: Looking for a 1988 brochure
Hi Vince, I found a brochure on the "Sail Info - Boat Brochure" for the entire 1988 line up at this website: https://boatbrochure.com/products/chris-craft-1988-sport-high-performance-brochure?_pos=1&_sid=81839ec01&_ss=r I tried to pull off the 21 Cuddy (or Scorpion Closed Deck ) as the call it on th...

Re: GLV305 Compression question
Thanks for the reply Bilge Rat... No, I put the oil in and left the plugs out... But, I didn't have the throttle wide open either... Another inconsistency was in the test itself... For the dry test, I used the push in attachment on the tester (it has a rubber stopper on the end), and for the wet tes...

GLV305 Compression question
Hello All, I have recently picked up a 1978 17' Lancer Stinger with a GM based 305 motor. (1977 according to the block casting numbers). According to the last owner, he was told when he bought the boat in 2012, that the boat was sitting for a couple of years before he bought it because the owner was...

Re: Normal engine temperature
I have a Marine Power Manual for CC Engines from 305 - 350 and according to the book, operating temps should run between 143 & 165.

I know it's a little late, but hey... I just got here...
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
Bob

New Guy - I Come Bearing Gifts!
Hello All, New member here! I joined because I am the new owner of a 1978 Chris Craft, 17', Lancer-Stinger. (That has yet to see water because there is a lot of sorting out to be done first...) The poor thing has been sitting on a trailer for over 10 years (that I can account for) with a weak number...

Looking for Lancer interior Naugahyde material
Hi All, In September I answered member CraigJudge's add on FaceBook Marketplace and bought his 1978 17' Chris Craft Lancer - Stinger. What a beautiful and rare and great boat it is! I only hope I can do it justice in my restoration. I have a great starting point because nearly 90% of the original bo...

Re: Trading Dock
New member here... and I'm trying to play catch up with a lot of these posts... Before I read this thread I did post on Trading Post, I am looking for replacement windshield glass for my, (as I am find out...) very rare and difficult to resource, 1978 seventeen foot Lancer Stinger... So, thanks for ...
