Thanks Jim
I'd like to get them if you can spare them. If not both, then one sure would help. Let me know. My email is [email protected]
Thanks
Herb

427 oil pressure senders
Does anyone know what oil pressure sender is used on the Chris Craft 427 engine? I have tried various ones but the gauge just pegs at maximum. The gauge scale is 0 - 120 psi. Thanks

Re: Constellation shore power plug
Thanks all for the reply's. Chris Craft built these Connies with dual 30 amp services and appropriate distribution panels also there are dual receptacles on both sides of the hull to plug in shore power. Changing to the modern twist locks will require me to remove and replank that section of the hul...

Constellation shore power plug
I am looking for a female shore power plug for my constellation that plugs into the hull side. It is not the standard twist lock that is on newer boats. It is brass and has 2 prongs with the ground provided by the frame of the plug. These were standard on the larger Connies in the 1960's. I don't kn...

6 days is still a short time
Lee Six days soak is still a short time for a wood boat. It may take quite a bit longer. Also, the question was raised as to what kind of pump you are using. I think the float switch might be placed to low or the pump could to large for the cavity where its installed. Some are the auto computer styl...

I changed out my old 1939 29' express cruiser with twin model "k"'s to 12 volts. Never could start it with the 6 volt system with out priming the intake manifold. After the changeover the starters spun it over and starting was never a problem. As all ready mentioned, the starter will work fine but c...

I agree with Craig. You do not want to fill up the boat. That amount of water could put disasterous stresses on the structure and probably cause a structual failure. If you really are worried about leakage, and she will, Put her in as the last boat before the weekend so you can soak in the slings wi...

Just this weekend I had the same problem with the screws but this was from a previous repair where they rebunged and glued the bungs in with epoxy or poly glue. When the bung was finally out the screw head was full of that hard mix and I was unable to clear the head to use the screwdriver. I finally...

I have had trim that was badly oxidized on my cruiser that I cleaned with a cotton buffing wheel mounted on my bench grinder. The buffing compound I used was by Delta. They have different grades of compound in the kit, but I'm sure any good hardware store would have something comperable. I was able ...

Oil pressure senders for 427's
I'm looking for oil pressure senders for the Chris 427 block. The guages read from 0 to 120psi but all I seem to find is 0 to 80 psi senders. Does anyone know of a supplier that has any thing that will work with the origonal Chris combo oil/amp 0 to 120 psi?
