Great ideas. I'm going to have to do some staining prior to appying epoxy. The anchor had had quite a bit of time to remove wood. Do you think the epoxy will still stick over the oil-based filler stain?

Repair of transom gouge

This summer I replaced the transom of our 45' 1960 Constellation. Good results. Last Thursday a boat docked behind us and the captain set loose spring lines so that their bow mounted anchor gouged our boat when the wind shifted. The damage is basically a horizontal line 1/4 - 3/8" deep, up to 1/2" w...

I purchased gaskets for my hatches from: Chris Craft Parts, Worldwide P.O. Box 7014 Bradenton, Fl, 34210-0114 Phone/Fax (941) 795-0292 http://www.chrisparts.com/ Thanks. I've been in touch with them and they don't have it now. Apparently, the manufacturer of the material we are discussing stopped m...

In my case they are the large sliding main cabin windows. I have two needs. 1. The outside sill trim strips - which provide a metal edge surface to the brightwork wood frame that is visble from the exterior of the boat. 2. Elmination of water overflowing the slide track. I think it is primarily from...

Deck hatch gasket material for 1960 Constellation.

I'm looking for a source for the gasket used to seal the large escape/vent hatches found above the sleeping quarters on wooden cruisers. The two on my boat are about 20" in diameter. The old material is essentially a 1/2" "U" that has a 1/4" skirt that overlaps the outer rim of the hatch seat. The "...

1960 Consellation cabin roof surface replacement

Not sure of the correct terminology - but, I need info on replacing the cabin roof outer/top "skin". Mine was separating and had cracks permitting moisture to wick underneath. This afternoon I removed it. There wasn't much holding it in place. The orignial material is cotton fabric attached with som...
