Re: CC Logo Position

Thanks for your input and photos. Appreciate it. Not sure why they did it that way. Something I will be changing. I wanted to make sure I was not missing something. Yes my photo must be too big as well. I will try a reduced size and see if that works.

I have a 1957 CC 27’ Sedan with flying bridge. The Chris Craft logo is offset as shown in photo. Have you seen this before, before I modify it to an in line configuration? Thank you.

Re: KL Engine Running Hot

Thanks for the responses. The temperature increases at a higher RPM and I saw about a 50 degree difference. The water pumps are the Sherwood type that you have to grease with the metal gear impeller. I’ve heard they are not efficient. That was my first suspect. I Like the coat hangar idea. Appreciat...

Manifold output running hotter on port side KL engine. Besides a possible water pump issue what other causes are possible and how would you isolate it?

I have a 57 27 ft sedan with fly bridge. I have 2 KL engines. I would be interested in staying in touch with what you learn as well. I don’t have much experience with KL engines. I am having some issues. Thanks.

Thanks for the response Jim. The Jabsco 5850s are still available and sold correct? Thanks very much for your insight.

Water pump change

I have a 1957 CC Sedan with 2 KLO engines. Was considering swapping out the Sherwood brass gear impeller type water pump for a Jabsco 5850 with a rubber impeller. The spec says the Jabsco will provide 12 GPM at 1700 RPMs and 17 GPM at 3000 RPM. Is there a issue with forcing water into the engine cra...

Re: KL engine clutch adjustment

The adjustment procedure is pretty simple once you’ve done it. The fwd clutch discs are contained in a cylindrical case which is threaded on the back for adjustment. There is a locking bolt on the back that goes into a series of holes. Remove that bolt and turn the back of the case clockwise so the...
