Thanks All
Surely had me stumped. Searchlight is long gone so don't see the need to replace. Too many other things to work on.

1964 Cavalier 26' Futura-What is this??
HI CCABC Friends Recently purchased this boat, but have no idea what this gizmo is. (Bought through a 2nd party, they didn't know either) It sits in front of the helm, goes into the cabin above the headliner and heads towards the starboard side. Looks like a cable of some sort but its frozen. Haven'...

Re: Natuolex Vinyl flooring
Thanks All
Paul at Woodies is making the material in 54” widths but at $112.50 a running yard it’s a bit pricey for my needs. Like the EVA idea, would be interested to hear how it turns out. I have all winter to work on flooring
Appreciate all the ideas

Original 283: Refurbrish or rebuiild ??
Hi CCABC Friends I recently bought a 1964 Cavalier 26' Futura (to go along with my 1963) which has the original 283 motor. As I have all winter to work on the boat, I plan to restore as much of the running gear as possible. Since I have the cockpit sole torn out, now is the time to work on the motor...

Natuolex Vinyl flooring
Hi CCABC Friends I'm restoring a 1964 CC Cavalier that has the original cockpit flooring. (pic attached) I understand Nautolex no longer makes this material and it is out-of-stock with dealers. Does anyone know where some might be hidden? I will need 4 linear yards, depending on width. I need 2 piec...

Re: Cavalier engine restoration-where to start?
Hi All Well, I took others advice and begin looking for a 283 to add to my boat. Hard to believe, I found one very close to home and in running condition. Even harder to believe, it came in a 1964 CC 26' Futura. So I now have 2-26 footers in my yard. So the restoration continues with the new boat Du...

Re: Cavalier engine restoration-where to start?
Thanks, John. I've heard much the same advice for several others, including Paul at Woodies Restorations. As my current motor is frozen, seems best to find a 283-H to rebuild rather than continue to try to fix the 455. Maybe with winter coming on, someone out there will be upgrading their motor and ...

Cavalier engine restoration-where to start?
HI CCABC Friends Several years ago, I ‘rescued’ a 1963 CC Cavalier Futura 26’ from a farmer’s field. Surprisingly, the hull was in pretty good shape, no dry rot anywhere. As near as I can tell, almost all the original fittings, cushions, instruments etc. are still on the boat. The original deck and ...

Re: Forward hatch cover for CC Futura
Thanks for the ideas. Seems I may be over thinking my repairs (And, apologies for not responding earlier...my computer was in worse shape than the boat)

Forward hatch cover for CC Futura
Hi All Rescued a 1963 CC Cavalier Futura 26' earlier this year from a farmyard and have way more questions than answers. (Boat name " PROJECT ” listed in the Hull Registry.) Not trying to restore to show condition as original motor and vinyl decking are long gone. Still, would like to get it back on...
