Is the Connie prop shaft...
On my '62 Connie, I believe the prop shaft is 1 3/8". Does anyone know if it's only one possible size for that year and model? I found a set of 22 x 23 props for $300 and want to jump on the deal for spares.

AC Cabin Lights
Before changing my original ship/shore switch to a breaker panel, all my lights and outlets worked. I had two original wire casings going to AC source- one from each side. At the time, I assumed one was outlets and one was lights. Turns out they're both outlets- one for each side. The light fixture ...

JW Sniffer
I have a JW Sniffer on my Connie. I'm wondering if it's possible to test it, or get it working. It's not the most practical use, but I'd like to keep it vintage and there's a hole in the lower dash. Replacing the board is not the worst thing. I may just clean it up and have it in the spot for looks....

Looking for ...
I have a '62 Connie I need a starboard side end piece to the corner on my railing. The old one was made from two pieces and the short piece is about two feet long. It'd be nice if someone knew where one was being parted to get that piece with the curve rather than making one. I'd like to get an aged...

Re: Keen board?
I guess it is the King Plank. My guy at the boat yard has a thick accent. I kept repeating keen to him and he continued confirming. Once I thought he was telling me about a Queen Bee Island and it was Quinby Island. I'll have to adjust my filters. When I bought the boat, the strips along the plank c...

On a '62 Connie, what is the right term for the teak wood that the hatch and mooring bitt are mounted on?

Beautiful, Peter. Those will be perfect. Every bit as good as original. Good thing is that they're easy to pull out if I find good originals. I have need of some smaller vent, too.

I forgot you were the one pumping that often, John. I will count my blessings. Have you ever seen a dry Connie? I have not heard of the red pepper. Is that to assist with salt water critters?

Re: Temporary leak stop
Except he wasn't talking about an emergency. The leak is not that fast. Bilge on every three days. Leaking from the chine. By doing that until my next haul I'm possibly forcing the water another direction in the structure. I don't know. But yes, great emergency fix anyways. What do think about folks...

How Far to Go with Interior Varnishing
Thought I'd get some feedback from the pros. I'm stripping the interior on my Connie. I'm removing the solid wood panel to replace a cracked window. It's on there pretty good with whatever was used as caulk in the day. It looks like mahogany Sikaflex, but I'm assuming it's original caulking. My inqu...

That's where I'm considering putting mine, Peter. Did you cut the middle support to get it in there, or take it apart? Do you have any problems with anything?Peter M Jardine wrote:Mine is under the port side front bunk.... about 30 gallons. If I had made a custom tank, I could have had maybe 40 gallons.

Any suggestions on where to put the holding tank on a 36' Connie? It looks like under the plywood on the port side of the Vee berth.
