OK Jim you were right i opened THE BOX! tried light thinned coat of Chris Craft red stain too reddish i sanded down plank one more time thought about trying some golden oak stain what do you guys think? I m just trying to get a close match for this summer. :?:

After trying the tinted varnish im not happy with it so i sanded the plank down and will try thinned coat of C/C stain

Thanks Doug i added some C/C #573 red stain to varnish and applied a coat this morning i think it will help, bungs are still darker i guess the cpes did that ill post photos, i know i wont be completey satisfied but i plan on re varnishing intire boat next year i still have 40ft cruiser to finish to...

:) Before trying anything drastic, try tinting varnish, CPES does penetrate and I don't think sanding will help much.....certainly not bleaching. .....and if that doesn't work.... Put it in the water and play boat. Varnish season is over in May. Ok after several long neck ice cold buds ive i m going...

I thought the cpes would be th same as a thinned varnish sealer coat, im new to cpes i wish i would have just tried thinned out varnish the way i used to do but they say cpes is clear no color im puzzled! I have a burgee pole for a 1942 Deluxe Enclosed cruiser but it is round are you sure your foward light is original? Im sadley parting out my 32ft enclosed cruiser.
