Aluminum Trim 1950's.

I have to replace this aluminum corner trim on my 57' Sports Express. It is an oval shape with almost a 90° back, a little over 1/4" wide. Does anyone know sources for this trim? (Pictures Attached)

Thank you, Greg

Jim, Can you recommend a place? They haven't started tooling it yet. Thanks, Greg

Remanufactured 1950's CC Rub Railing

Having the stainless "C" channel rub railing on my 1957 26' Sports Express remanufactured. It would be easy to make more if anyone is interested. Can anyone tell me if this type of rub railing is used on many other CC models? (attached pictures) Regards, Greg Aylesworth ps. The shop I'm using has do...

Re: Bimini Top 1957 26' CC Sports Express

I'm in Royal Oak just north of Detroit. Already talked to a half dozen top makers and can't seem to find anyone that wants to tackle it. I still have the original frame, which I want to reuse, looks identical to the frame on Tom's beautiful 36'. The framing they used back then has different diameter...

Bimini Top 1957 26' CC Sports Express

Having trouble finding someone in Michigan that can make or restore my old frame and sew a new bimini top.

The boat has a very large and complicated frame and top, I need an expert. If you can recommend anyone I'd be grateful.

Regards, Captain Greg

Windshield Support Poles

Please take a look at the windshield support poles in this photo. The poles and hardware were missing when I bought the boat. I'm trying to fabricate it. Would anyone know if these support poles are 3/8" or 1/4" thick? 1957 26' Chris Craft Sports Express Thank you! Greg http://s10.postimage.org/3uuu...

Looks like the original decking material because it runs under the windshield framing which has never been removed. Must be that Nautolex. It has a fiberglass cloth weave inside the plastic. I'll look around for Nautolex or something close. Any opinion if I should seal the raw plywood deck before gl...

Canvas Deck Material

Everyone's comments have been a huge help. Stripping the old deck has been progressing nicely. Surprised to find the original deck is not real canvas, but a plastic material that looks like canvas. Do you think I can find this at JC Goss in Detroit? Would you still recommend using Titebond? http://s...

Canvas Deck Restoration

I'm restoring the exterior canvas decking on a 1957 26' Sports Express. The old canvas deck is original and looks like it was soaked in fiberglass resin when it was laid down. Started trying to peel it off with a power scrapper, but it's not coming up easily. Any tips how I could strip it off? I'm t...
