Re: Club Financial Statements for 2012

I am suitably impressed at the financial turnaround. It is a credit to the hard work of everyone on the BOD. Two thumbs up.

Showed the pictures to some LOOONG term boaters and they all agreed they liked Chris-Craft Phantom and I tend to agree. Yes it's retro but just the shape of the windsheild or any other single attribute should not automatically make it the decendant of and old series. This seems to be able to stand o...

1958 Evinrude

An acquaintance today handed me a 1958 Fleetwin Evinrude, 7.5 HP. He also handed me the original operating manual along with with inserts forthe Outboard Boating Club Of America and a listing of Evinrude Distributors and Dealers. The engine had been stored in a friends uncles garage for the past 30 ...

Linoleum is both front and back, can't get away from it. When I was having the boat restored I had pictured it with a teak and holly sole but Tom convinced me (rightly so) to stick with the "as made" approach.

It is not necessary to send a new copy, this will suffice. Also though I may be banned from this site and have my membership rescinded for admitting this; I don't save every copy. Put the pitchforks away please.

Winter 2011 Brass Bell

Got my new Brass Bell today all nicely wrapped and a good looking Red and White staring at me. Until I opened it up and all the pages fell out separately. Anyone else have this problem? Are we saving on glue? LOL On the positive side 70 of us can now read this issue simultaneously.

Looking for something a little smaller. LOL Maybe something I can put in the back of my SUV as I keep the boat elsewhere during the winter. Love the airplane tugs but a little more than I want to spend and don't think I need that much capacity. Anyone have thoughts on the Parkit360? Runs new about $...

Motoized Trailer Dolly

Does anyone use a motorized trailer dolly to move their boats around? Since my classic is not used all that much I like to keep it tucked out of the way and safe but manually muscling it around on the grass and gravel is getting a little hard for me. My vehicle can not access these areas and I don't...

A couple of years ago we were staying at Townsend Manor Marina and Hotel out on the east end of Long Island, a very nice place and one we had been to before and since. While there that time a hurricane made a turn up the east coast and was predicted to hit about 48 hours latter. All were informed by...

Great story and glad you made it home safely. It always amazes me how huge a boat looks in a marina (especially when blocked) yet how small it feels out on the open ocean. Add fog + night and it starts to give you an idea of your place in the universe. Good luck with your project and safe sailing.

Is it wrong? Depends on the alternative. Are you willing to put the time in and $$ in to do it bright? And be realistic! Would the boat otherwise become a bonfire next Halloween? Better to preserve it now and let some future owner hate you for the sanding needed to re-varnish than to have the boat d...

Burning Man Cruiser

An acquaintance recently returned from the Burning Man event in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada and showed me these pictures of a Chris Craft Cruiser that they give rides in around the fair. Must be the most land locked cruiser anywhere! http://s1.postimage.org/NQDmS.jpg http://s1.postimage.org/NQIm...
