Let the fun begin!

Hello and Welcome.
What condition is you boat in and does it have a story?
Is that lapstrake construction?
I have a 1968 36'Cavalier and it's been a great boat.
Is this your first restoration?

Good luck...have fun

Filling topside dings prior to painting

Hi all, Bringing my recent aquisition a 36' Cavilier up to speed...not perfection...just to "family fun" standards (as I see them). For now I need to do some touch-ups on the topside paint...bow area. There are a few small areas (2"x2")where several layers of old paint are rough/cracked/chipping off...

Welcome Bradley, My wife and I recently bought a 36' Cavalier yacht too, and for some of the same reasons you did...the cabin is ideal for our three year old to bounce around in and there is adult space with a door on it! The hull is bright red so she's hard to miss. I am pretty new to the club also...

Brass Bell

The fact that we are all involved in vintage boats means that we have an analog side... that being the case I enjoy the feel and weight of a paper magazine. I make time to read somthing that I can hold and interact with...and I am under 50 years old. In my opinion $50 would be fine but above that ma...

Bottom Paint.....Latex?

I want to bottom paint my 36' Cavalier and have recently been reading about 100% Latex paint being superior to traditional bottom paints.
Thoughts, experience, rants?
Thanks,
Patrick

I needTips for inspecting wood hull after haul out

Hello All, I am in the final stage of aquiring the apple of my eye...a 36' Cavalier. The current owner has a long history with her and many thousands of miles of travel...bildge is bone dry. The last stage in my purchase is haul out and inspection. I don't expect to find any issues but I learned qui...
