Chrysler Crown Oil Filter

I have a Chrysler Crown M6 in my 1947 Gar Wood. I bought four filters from NAPA when the engine was rebuilt. I now need a new one and I can't find my records. Does anyone know the model number and where I can find one?

Still no Brass Bell for me in Minneapolis. It would be a great Christmas present if it arrived!

I never received one in Minneapolis and it's the end of October. My membership is up to date and I'm scheduled to receive The Brass Bell through Winter 2013. Is there a copy online anywhere? I'd really like to see it.

Beautiful boat. And as practical as an open bow is, it's the closed bow that does it justice. Riviera is perfect, but in case that name is unworkable from some kind of trademark standpoint, let me cover my butt and suggest a few alternatives: Cote d Azur Saint-Tropez Cap Ferrat Cannes (As much as I ...

Group Boating

Anyone have any advice on rules of the road/best practices when cruising around a lake in formation with other woodies? Speeds, distances, safety, wakes, aesthetics... you name it, share your wisdom.

I understand what a daunting process it is to publish the Brass Bell. And I thank everyone for their hard work. My comment about the photography was only meant to be helpful going forward, and I'm sure the magazine will keep getting better and better.

I realize this thread is running out of gas, but I wanted to thank Bill Basler for giving so much to the club. Brass Bell under his leadership was simply a work of art, delivery dates be dammed! I also thank Bill Baldwin for taking over the publication. But I'd like to make an observation about the ...

Really nice update. The photography alone is such an improvement. It looks almost as good as Woody Boater.

Registration Stickers

I've been boating for a season and a half without displaying my registration sticker in Wisconsin... All on the same lake. Of course, I do display registration numbers (in gold leaf.) I just hate to ruin the mahogany with an ugly red sticker. Our lake association sponsors a lake patrol boat through ...

Engine Box

I have a 1947 Gar Wood Ensign that is completely done to very high standards except for the interior of the engine box. It's a pressboard like wood and I haven't repainted it yet. It appears to have originally been painted with bilge paint. Or, for appearance should I consider lining it with somethi...
