Re: Shoring For Big Sea Skiff
I never posted any pictures of her on the hard. So here are a few pictures. 2012_02190012.JPG 2012_02190002.JPG 2012_02190014.JPG 2012_02190021.JPG Sad part is it has been a couple years before I've been able to get started. Spent 18 months out of state. Back now and working to move to a garag...

Thanks Jim, I've got the support under the keel essentially where you are talking about. The outside stands are essentially where you are talking and only to steady as the support is on the keel. I most likely went a little over on the keel stand, but figure having a few extra doesn't hurt when you ...

How to level?
She is finally on the hard to start the process of inspection, repair, update, and etc. All seems to be good, BUT... What should be level or where do I measure to know that I don't have her cocked or leaning or one support to tall?? Any thoughts or suggestions? I've used all Brownell stands includin...

Thermostat on 283F
I have twin 283F in my 35' Corinthian and they have thermostats. They are not automotive style and I'm having a heck of a time locating them and just removing doesn't improve overheating if the circulating water pump is not working. The circulating water pump is required to move the water properly t...

Certainly can be a number of things that can cause this and without knowing the maintenance history and etc. it would be difficult to point you to one thing. I recently had the same challenge on one of my engines on my 64 Corinthian with twin 283s. I agree with the others that you need to get it fix...

I'm interested as well
I certainly would be interested in ideas on this as well since I'm getting ready for a complete update to mine. The thruster certainly would be handy at times. Mine is a 1965 Sea Skiff Corinthian 35'. It is lapstrake with twin 283s. Probably good suggestions as to which ones work well and an idea of...

Be sure you need to rebuild or replace.
Often we all rebuild or replace when what is really needed is a good tune up and proper timing and good fuel. The replacement choice is a good one, but if you are up to it and want to give it a shot, I'd be glad to send you pictures and all that I found rebuilding mine recently. The biggest issue I ...

Certainly not original, but a possible aftermarket
I have found a few solutions, but haven't decided on a specific one as of yet (just starting the restoration). Hushmat is an excellent product for noise and temperature but is a stickon type mostly for automotive. Here is another at Acoustical Source . Marine Soundproofing also carries the same http...

Insurance while restoring?
What is the best approach for insurance protection of my 1964 SeaSkiff Corinthian 35' while I'm restoring her? It will be a minimum of two years to restore. It will be accomplished at a location that I am renting to perform the work.

Cradle dimensions
Reviewing some docs I had purchased I came across the cradle dimensions. It shows only using two keep supports for the 1964 35' Sea Hawk and three on the 1962 34' Custom Corinthian. Not for sure if I totally understand the placement of the cradle (still new to this old wood boat). The doc is availab...

I also have a 35' Corinthian (1965). Bought last year and we are preparing to take out this fall to start to restore. Pretty new to this wood boat journey. Did you use the jack stands? How did they work? Any pictures? What is the best way to store my old boat for about 2 years to restore? It is goin...

64 35' Corinthian
We've got a 64 35' Corinthian. Haven't even had Josephine for a year yet. Beyond cleaning and minor repairs to larger projects. She sits at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Having so much fun that it is probably going to be another year before we take her out for a major face lift. :D Here is the gra...

I'm sure glad I asked before starting to cut. After calculating some catastrophic events that could happen to hoses, valves, and etc. thought the extra few bucks for the larger pump was good piece of mind. I pretty sure I'm going to run the hose up through the floor and through the wall of the head ...

Bilge Pump Placement and Stringer Holes
I'm updating my 35' 1964 Sea Skiff Corinthian. It had only a very small bilge pump and the float went bad. I've replaced with a better quality but still small pump for the everyday cycles. I'm putting in a secondary pump that is much larger (3700 gph) as well. My challenge is the placement of the di...

Thanks!! I just got our boat and the starboard engine has an electric pump. Now I know what to look for to make sure it was installed correctly. Supposedly it is there because the lobe on the cam shaft is too worn for the mechanical to work. That is very rare from my experience with engines but does...

I've only had the 1964 35' Sea Skiff Corinthian for about a month so speed and such is difficult to say. I can tell you that I have to get it up to 3000 rpm or so to get on plane. Still getting used to her. But, since trim tabs were brought up. I've put that on my list as upgrads in the near future....

I recently purchased some engine paint from a vendor. It was the Moeller Color Vision Paint. Here is the link http://www.moellermarine.com/aftermarket/marine_paints/color_vision/ . Oh, should have explained better. I don't want to change the jets. When I opened up the carburetor it was obvious I wasn't the first to be inside (to be expected). Wanting to be thourough and not tons of experience in rebuilding carbs I removed (or attempted) the jets. Two of the jets were screw slo...

Thanks for the suggestion. Seems very few have information on this specicific carburetor. I've posted a picture of the carburetor number. I left the jets in as they were and all is good. 283 Carter AFB fuel jet
I have a 1964 Chris Craft Sea Skiff with twin 283s and Carter AFB 3660 C3 carbs. Can anyone tell me what size jets came with in the carburetors originally? Swim Platform 1964 Sea Skiff 35'
Hello from a newbie. Just started on my project, a 1964 Chris Craft Sea Skiff 35' Corinthian. Solid old boat with great lines. Mostly needs some TLC and depending on how far I go with her, some bucks I would imagine as well. :D Anyways, I'm not necesarily looking to do a restore to original but an u...
