Chris Craft script

Call Jim Staib. He has them for sure. 815-344-9663. I've never heard of one of these blowing away. They tend to walk away fairly frequently, though.

Bilge Color

I have 2o' Holiday. Hull number has been partially defaced. Mine is H-20-0??. It has the green bilge paint as well. Kind of a forest green or pine green. I have a 1955 17' Runabout that also has the same green bilge color and the hull card has it listed on there. So it was definitely a factory color...

Boat ID

According to "The Essential Guide," V-15-033 would make it a 15' Cavalier. Most likely a 1955. It has the early windshield. If the sides are plywood rather than planked it would indicate a Cavalier.

Austin cruise

That cruiser in Austin is severely hogged from having the bow unsupported on the trailer. Check out the stern hanging off the back. It's also in pretty bad shape from being left outside.

Sleeper B engine

John, I think I may have the answer to your problem. I would suggest going with the B and keeping the boat original but making it a longer stroked version for more power. A "BL" if you will. My understanding is that Hercules provided IXB blocks to other boat engine makers, and one of these-Universal...

Service Bulletins - Looking for 1938-1958

I have a complete set of 1932-1937 (#1-#125) service bulletins as well as what I believe is a complete set of 1959-1970 service bulletins (#E1-#E177,#G1-#G36, #H1-#H86, and #P1-#P206.) I am missing 1938-1958. Does anybody have these? I would be willing to pay for copies, or copy mine and send them t...

CC Cruisers and jackstands

I've stripped and demolished a number of Chris Craft cruisers that were beyond saving and have a few I'm trying to bring back. I have no experience with cradles. My experience with jackstands/blocks is that you want a distribution between blocking the keel and the jackstands. Personally I like to ha...

N.O.S. Dearborn Interceptor parts available

Found a small cache of new old stock Dearborn Marine interceptor parts. Mixing elbows, risers, water necks, end caps, Y's, fittings, etc. Couldn't upload pictures in Trading Dock so I apologize in advance. Here are pictures of a few examples. Trade for Chris Craft parts or money. Scott 713-254-5629....

Hull ID

Hey Steve, I would call up there to the Mariner's Museum and ask them to look up the hull cards for C-32-040 and C-33-040. Ask them if either was specially ordered as an express. Won't cost you anything. Looking through the Essential Guide, this was not uncommon.

Boat ID

Steve - check out the 32' Super Deluxe Enclosed: 1950-1952. The four small portholes are the same. My guess is that yours was specially ordered as an express rather than an enclosed. Also, the boat next to this one looks suspiciously like the 33' 47-50 Deluxe Enclosed that would match the hull numbe...

Separate/Common oiling

According to this supplement, the earlier versions used separate oiling, with engine oil as the working fluid and the later ones used common oiling with the engine. Says here separate oiling used before engine number 79485 and common oiling used after 79484. Also, engines equipped with hydraulic tra...

Hydraulic transmissions for Chris Craft M series confirmed.

Turns out CC did in fact have hydraulic transmissions mated to M series engines. Check out this supplement I found that came with some paperwork I got with an old cruiser. Engineering Notice #3519 of 12/12/55 - 1956 33' Futura Decor

I know it's a long shot, but I'm looking for this engineering notice involving the Decorative Styling Specifications for the 1956 33' Futura. I have the Decorative Styling Specifications for 04/23/57, which were changed significantly from '56. Mariner's Museum doesn't have it. Thanks, Scott

Metal Strips between Exhaust Vents on Continentals

Can anyone tell me the size - length and width - of the 3 metal strips that go between the 3 vents on the sides of a 1956-1958 23' Continental? Mine seem to be missing. Were these chrome over brass or stainless? Hollow backed or solid? Screw locations? Thanks for any info. It is much appreciated. P....

It definitely says "Raybelle". Thanks so much for the info. I wonder what color it was? I guess back in 1952 you could give a girl linoleum for a Christmas gift. Today, I think If I did that I'd be out of a date for New Years!

"Raybelle" colored linoleum

Just got my hull card from Mariner's Museum for my 1958 23' Continental. Lists linoleum color as "Raybelle". This was a modification from the standard green apple color for this series beginning with 1957 model. Anybody have a freakin clue what color "Raybelle" is??? Thanks in advance.
