Hello Drrot: Thanks for you help. My valves checked out fine.....I did a spark plug test and found two not performing. Put a new complete set of 6 J8C Champions in and my my my she has never ran better. Problem solved. Thanks again.

Thanks Jim. Given this is a replacement 350 chevy engine i am not certain of the model. However i am planning to replace the impeller.....hopefully next weekend and will advise if problem has been corrected. thanks, dave

Hello - Upon five (5) minutes after initial start up It looks like steam coming from starboard side exhaust. (Actually quite a bit of what appears to be steam is visible.) Don - I called Gary at Boatmans and he was a big help and he remembered you. He called me back and gave me his Tan Flannel supplier - a company named Trivantage. They actually had a facility in Glen Raven, NC and I received the 8 oz Tan Flannel (PT# 710002) in two days. Again, many thanks. dave tuttle

Hello to all that gave answer my gas tank question. Subsequent to my post I looked at a friends deluxe and noticed the offset is indeed due to the exhaust pipe clearance requirement. When I recently removed the original gas tank from my 1948 17 foot Deluxe Runabout I noticed the fill pipe is not located in the center of the tank. The tank dimensions are 36" L X 13" H.
