Update: I successfully removed the old and installed the new head gasket using all of the advice above. I have observed no leaks (at the end of last year I had some water seeping out of the forward end of the head) after following the torque-heat-torque sequence outlined by Mitch LaPointe. A few mor...

Mark, We have one in 71826. I have not tried to prove that the box itself is original but my research has shown that most of the boat is original (including bottom). I don't have any good pictures of the box and the boat is in storage about 70 miles away. I may have to go "visit" it in the next mont...

I just finished cleaning, flushing, and sealing a fuel tank from a 1966 Mustang. The sealer leaves a very hard metallic like finish on the inside of the tank. J...

I took a good look at the prop this weekend and could see a clear "14" stamped on the forward end of the hub. I also measured the diameter and it is 12.5". So I don't have the original prop on the boat. I did have the spare from my old Ski Nautique (Federal Mogul) and it is in fact 13x13x1, however ...

Thanks for the info, Jim. In the first photo there appears to be "13" rearward and above the "780k". I'll do a more thorough check this weekend. I believe the prop I had on my old "79 Ski Nautique was a 13x13x1 as well and I think it may have been stamped on the end of the hub, so I'll take the shaf...

Prop Identification
I'm the new owner of a 1941 Chris Craft 17' Deluxe Runabout #71826 and am in the process of tracking down history of the boat. The Hull card shows a wheel size of 7981. The prop on the boat has the following markings: "780K", "179B"' and "GLO 1392". Can anyone tell me what this prop is and if it is ...
