Not sure if it has anything to do with it but you should be using non detergent oil.

Re: The Building of Miss Dot
A little update on Miss Dot, this past weekend I took her to the Lake Hartwell show, if you haven't been to the Hartwell show you are missing a great venue, the Blue Ridge guys and gals are doing amazing things with this show. I'm happy to say that Miss Dot won her first show, best runabout, and I w...

I can also vouch for Don's method, used it on my boat and even though my bottom is only 9 years old, it still looks great to this day.

Re: Sea-Mite Siren
After further inspection of the motor for the Siren it looks like I may have to go to option two but haven’t totally given up on option one yet. With that said, option two would be to try and find a replacement motor. Do any of you know what the hp & RPM might be for that motor?

Spoke to Mr. Randall but he is a bit under the weather and not taking on any more projects for the time being.
Is there anyone else that could be recommended, it is basically the motor than needs attention?

Recently purchased a Perko Sea-Mite siren, do any of you know someone who can rebuild the motor, the rest of the unit is in great shape?

Re: Spar Varnish versus gasoline
Having the same problem on my 41 deluxe runabout which vents out the side. I only have a couple of inches above the tank to work with which gives no room for a loop. You guys have me thinking that maybe I need to blank off the vent tube and drill a hole in the cap to cure my problem. I also learned ...

This site has been invaluable to me over the years, without it I'm not sure I would have ever completed my 15 year project "Miss Dot". There have been a lot of different social media sites over the years, FB, MySpace, etc., but not the first one help me build my boat but this site did and I'm sure i...

Re: Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club Hats!
Maybe I should have worded it differently, what did the geese have to do with Chris Craft (have to say, I never payed any attention to the geese on that post war emblem before)?

A question I have been meaning to ask, what is the significance of the geese in the CCABC logo (what do geese have to do with Chris Craft)? and no i'm not trying to be a wise ass. :)

Jesus, there was no one that knew less about building/restoring boats than me when I started my project many years ago and my project was nothing more than a template for me. I did have some wood working skills but it was this very forum that help guide me to completing my project. Your project is i...

Not sure if the model B has the fitting in the same place as the GM model 70 but here is a pic of where it's located on that engine, it's the fitting right behind the fuel pump.

Re: The Building of Miss Dot
When I had the official launch for Miss Dot it was on the Edisto, the place where my brothers and I grew up but at that time there was not enough water in the river to actually run it. At the end of that summer I crashed Miss Dot loading her on to the trailer after another event and didn't get her f...

Re: Season Saved!!!!!!
Dave also saved the last half of the season for me, after diagnosing my engine problems and realizing that it would make more "cents" to replace rather than repair, Dave sent me a Gray model 620 that he happen to have on the floor. Great little engine that just purrs, could not be happier, hoping I ...
