Carter AFB base plate gasket

Need a base plate gasket for the Carter carb off my 1967 Super-Sport, 327 Chevy. I don't need the whole rebuild kit. Anybody have a model number for the Carter? The old guys at NAPA are scratching their heads.

Trailer decisions

Matt, Get a tandem with brakes, trailer tires, LED lights. No question about that stuff! It's necessary because you have put time & lots of work into your boat. It/you deserve a trailer that will save you the most headaches along the road. Also a good idea to have a few inches of bunk sticking out b...

Peter, contact SMS at the above link, tell them you want the Jim Frechette Super Sport interior vinyl samples and you will have a perfect match for the turquoise and the white. They can also do the heat pleating needed on the side panels & doghouse and the heat welding needed for the seat stripes. T...

1964 Super Sport interior

Hello Hans, The '64 interior was not the same as the '65-'67. I think your boat came with the same turquoise & white color but the pattern on the seats is not white stripes, like mine, but white panels. The flooring you have is correct. www.smsautofabrics.com in Oregon should have the correct color ...

Here's a picture of the keel. Someone more knowledgeable than I will have to fill you in on the exact measurements & process.

They are narrower, thicker planks. The one just right of the keel has been shaped in the first photo. The second image shows how far forward they are positioned.

Speed stabilizers for a 1965 Super Sport

Hi Tim, Are these also called lifting strakes? If so they make a heck of a difference in the way your boat rides & handles. It will corner tightly without sliding sideways. On plane your boat will lift up and skim across the top of choppy water rather than banging through it. You want them! Susan

Positive changes for the boat club

Just for the record, I would like to purchase two copies of the Spring Brass Bell, if possible. After members who did not receive their copies get them, of course.

Thanks all,

Susan

Boat Buzz unplugged at Lake Dora

I think we returned from the picnic cruise last year around 3pm, earlier than most. So Al's suggestion of 4pm for the photo should give everyone time to return, tie up, run to the outhouse and be at the CC/WB tent smiling & ready for a classic photo.

I would also like to have a copy of the pilot "This Old Boat" or "Classic Boating Lifestyle", since I know the lake, the characters (sorry Jim), the area history and the boats in the video. Ken, Jim any way to get a copy???

Old Boat TV

There actually was a pilot filmed for a "This Old Boat" TV show done a few years ago in Oklahoma. The first version I saw was great! Beautiful cinematography, steam floating out of the shop doors from the planks that were being fitted, great discussion about what was being done and how. Sadly, after...

I have renewed my membership and made a donation. I like the Brass Bell in print and online. It's great to get on the forum without logging in, just to see what's happening. Keep everything the way it is now, I hate change. Raise the membership rate to $50 or $75, whatever makes financial sense for ...

After Thanksgiving and before Christmas looks good for me. Hopefully it won't be too cold then or after the first of the year works too. Do they have the Woodies out on display now? Got it! It was ordered from fpm metals. They matched the engine or machine turned size and pattern and cut it to the right shape. Cost was $250. Looks great.

1967 Super Sport white (and turquoise) interior vinyl

How white was the interior vinyl originally used by Chris-Craft? I have samples from an original interior that is a beautiful creamy white. I suspect it has yellowed slightly from age. Which white is appropriate for restoration?

Thank you!

'67 Super Sport metal dash panel

The lower left side of my dash is covered with a decorative metal (stainless?) panel that has had a hole cut into it for a radio. I want to ditch the radio. The pattern is overlapping concentric circles and the piece is about 4"X 48". Is there a source for this metal panel? I don't need the whole da...
