Re: Air in fuel bowl

It's normal. There is a small jet on the suction line in the tank. You are sucking air through the jet.

Re: Rebuild or Repower

My opinion is if you are going to boat local stay with gas. If you are going to boat long distance go with diesel. Staying with the 430 vs say 454s? I'd have the 430s opened up and get a quote first.

Ditto. It worked for 80 years the original way.

I would vent as original using hole in cap. Just be sure hole has not been obstructed with debris or plating.

Jim,
Were you lost? Are you sure you were under the correct boat? 6005 is for a 17' Sportsman and several Cavaliers. Pre-War would be a smaller number.
I probably have a 6005 if you want to try it.

A lot of them. Not all. They were originally sold pre-cut. I have the blanks too but trying to see if I have an original. ALL of them are obsolete.

Re: 95hp "K" Blowby around Spark Plug

Might be worth a try to change the plug. Even though its new, might have a manufacturing defect in the threads or even the porcelain insulator. Possible a Chinese product, there have been some documented counterfeit knock offs. Great place to start. Exchange it with another plug and see if the prob...

Re: Modern Power with Orginal Floor Shifter

Yours has the floor shift and mechanical transmission. Hydraulic gears shift a lot easier. When using a hydraulic gear the shifter weighs so much it will move when hitting a wave and go directly from forward to reverse. A detent stops that. doesn't all the 59-60's runabouts qualify. 283's ? Mine has...

A whistle. I always leave the key in the boat. On mine you can remove the key in any position. The whistle passes for a horn when getting inspected.

Find this pad on the starboard side where the head and block meet in the center. Send the numbers to the Mariners Museum and ask them if it is original to the hull.
I have to assume it uploaded. I don't have permission to see my own files!

Re: K, KFL, Runabout, Costum Runabout, Runabout deluxe..?

The KFL will fit in the same spot. Couple things to check first are if the rear carburetor will clear the engine stringer and do you have the 2 3/4" exhaust needed. The photos do not show up on my screen. I get "You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post." Anyon...
