Chines - do they protrude below bottom?
Hi, I’m at the faring stage of the 5200 bottom on my 1947 17’ deluxe runabout. I notice the chines stick out past the bottom from around 4’ back from the bow, all the way back for the stern. Hi, Just wanted to update the forum. After some research I decided to go with a new 5200 bottom. The boat has been stripped and flipped and the old bottom removed. Most all of the structure is good, with the gripe etc and transom being the exceptions. I will be replacing these members with white oak...
